Race Discrimination

In 2005, according to the Employment Tribunal Service (ETS), there were over 3,300 claims for racial discrimination submitted to the ETS. While this is a reduction on the figures for 2002-2004 it shows that although Britain is a society of many different cultures and races, people are still subjected to race discrimination.

Two of our Race Discrimination specialists, Binder Bansel and Felicia Epstein, have recently published an article that appeared in the Solicitor's Journal. The article examines the difficult issue of discrimination claims and employers' confidentiality and the Race Claims pdf can be accessed at the top of the right hand column on this page.

Race discrimination was made illegal in the 1976 Race Relations Act, however, it is clear from Pattinson & Brewer’s wide experience of these type of cases that people still do not know what their rights are and how much the law aims to protect them from this type of discrimination.

We have been extremely successful in bringing claims for race discrimination against a variety of employers and organizations. As with any type of discrimination victims are often very distressed and upset and our experts are well practised in handling these cases sensitively and in giving straightforward and appropriate legal advice.
