Sexual Orientation Discrimination

Sexual Orientation Discrimination is a newly updated area of law that came into force in 2003. It makes discrimination against an employee or potential recruit because of their sexual orientation unlawful and also outlaws discrimination by an employer on account of perceptions of the employee’s sexual orientation.

Pattinson & Brewer’s employment law team have had a lot of experience dealing with newly formed areas of legislation and have often been actively involved at the forefront of leading change in contentious areas.

Our discrimination and equality team is led by Binder Bansel. We have been extremely successful in bringing claims for discrimination against a variety of employers and organizations. As with any type of discrimination victims are often very distressed and upset and our experts are well practised in handling these cases sensitively and in giving straightforward and appropriate legal advice.
