Mesothelioma Compensation in 2 Weeks

A Unite the Union member has received £50,000 initial compensation within 2 weeks of consulting Pattinson & Brewer solicitors.

Ron Blake of Grays Essex worked with the CEGB at West Thurrock Power Station from 1962 until 1990. He was regularly exposed to substantial amounts of asbestos dust while working at the Power Station.

Mr. Blake was formally diagnosed with asbestos related mesothelioma in January. He immediately instructed his Union specialist solicitors Pattinson & Brewer. The claim was immediately notified to RWE Npower. Within 2 weeks, a cheque was received for £50,000 initial compensation.

Mr. Blake says:

"Everyone in the Power Station was exposed to asbestos dust as lagging work was commonplace in those days. It was common to work close to laggers who would mix up raw asbestos."

Representing Mr. Blake, Paul Meehan, asbestos specialist at Pattinson & Brewer says:

"I am pleased that the Defendant has made the initial payment so quickly. I am hopeful that we will be able to settle Mr. Blake’s claim very shortly".
