Niamh O'Brady is a partner in Pattinson & Brewer's Accident and Disease department. She is devoted to claimant personal injury work and has a great deal of experience in handling employee injuries arising from workplace accidents in a variety of different industries including:

  • Ports and docks serving merchant shipping
  • Aboard ships
  • Chemical industry
  • Road and rail freight haulage
  • Passenger transport
  • Manufacturing and warehouse distribution.

She has handled cases involving traumatic amputation of limbs, head injuries, post traumatic stress, disabling back injuries and repetitive strain injuries. She also has experience of claims for conditions arising from exposure to substances at work including dermatitis, chloroacne, chemical and carbon monoxide poisoning.

Niamh's objective in all cases is to ensure that the claimant receives the maximum award of damages from the negligent party and, where appropriate, to obtain an interim payment to help day to day inconvenience caused by the accident. She is also a leading advocate of rehabilitation to speed a claimant's recovery.

Niamh qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and has been a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel since it's inception. She is a member of Unite the Union, Labour party, Haldane Society of Socialist Lawyers and the Critical Lawyers Group.

Away from the office Niamh's interests are politics, horse riding, kayaking, mountain walking and cycling.

Niamh has an BA Hons degree in Law from Kent University and a MA in politics from Georgetown University.
