Richard Kayser

Solicitor

Richard is an assistant solicitor in the Clinical Negligence department in London. He was previously called to the Bar of England and Wales and following cross-qualification he qualified as a Solicitor in 2010.

Richard spent nearly two years working and gaining experience in the clinical negligence and personal injury departments before formally qualifying as a solicitor. He is now assisting on a wide range of clinical negligence and medical accident claims including cases involving catastrophic injury such as cerebral palsy and amputation.

He is building up his expertise in cases involving thrombo-embolic events such as stroke, pulmonary embolism and DVT. He recently assisted the head of department, Linda Levison, in achieving settlement of a case for over £1 million.
Richard has recently assisted in a case obtaining judgment for a child who suffered severe brain injury from a delay that occurred at the time of birth. The delay lead to the development of hypoxic ischaemic encaphalopathy and a subsequent diagnosis of cerebral palsy.

He has a special interest and knowledge in cases involving limb and joint replacement and the problems arising from this surgery.

He has an eye for detail, and is known for his careful analysis of the factual and medical basis of cases.

Richard is a member of Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and an Accredited Litigator.

In his spare time he enjoys travelling around Europe and the Far East and loves experiencing local cultures. He particularly likes to try new foods but drew the line at deep fried insects on a recent trip.

He plays football and tennis and has some mountaineering experience. He was a member of the RAF corps and would love to obtain a private pilot’s license some day.

To relax Richard enjoys spending time with friends, visiting the theatre and reading widely.
