Patrick Higgins

Patrick is currently a trainee solicitor with the firm having started his training contract in October 2017, working in the areas of civil litigation and employment. Patrick has specific conduct of commercial and contractual litigation for performers and artists. Before starting his training contract Patrick worked in the firm’s employment department as a paralegal and has over 3 years experience in advising on employment matters. Patrick has dealt with a wide variety of cases including discrimination and unfair dismissal claims. Patrick has also dealt with several large group claims for protective award, redundancy pay and holiday pay claims, including working on behalf of GMB members in the SSI steelworks redundancy litigation.

Patrick graduated with a 2:1 degree in History and Politics before completing a Graduate Diploma in Law from City University London where he achieved a Commendation. Patrick the completed his Legal Practitioners Course at the University of Law, graduating with a Distinction.

Prior to joining Pattinson & Brewer Patrick previously worked as paralegal at a full service firm on Chancery Lane, working on cases at all levels of the civil courts including the Supreme Court.

Patrick has a long family history in the Trade Union movement and has a real passion for ensuring that all individuals are able to protect themselves against big corporate or governmental interests.
